A note from the studio

Blacklight Detailing was founded on a simple refusal: that the finest cars in Central Texas should never sit on a wash rack, never be handed to a stranger at a franchise bay, never be rinsed under fluorescent light. We are a one‑van, two‑hand operation. The van is built like a small studio — demineralized water, 220V inverter, professional lighting, and a cabinet of Austrian polishes you have probably never heard of. We pull in. We work for half a day. We leave no evidence but the finish.

  1. I.

    Arrival, 9:00 am

We pull up the drive in an unmarked black Transit. Generator, water, and lighting come from the van — nothing runs off the house. A tarp goes down if the drive is gravel.

  2. II.

    The Wash

Two buckets, grit guards, a pH‑neutral soap, a lambswool mitt per panel. Clay bar follows, lifting what the wash cannot. No pressure stripes, no brushes, never a chamois.

  3. III.

    Interior, brush by brush

Vacuum first, then seam brushes on every crevice, a solvent‑free leather cleaner, and a conditioner worked in by hand. We do not spray Armor All on the dash. Ever.

  4. IV.

    The Finish

We pull the tarps, stage the keys on a microfiber, and walk you through what we touched. Payment is a tap. A handwritten card goes in the driver’s pocket.

What clients say

“Miles detailed the 997 before I handed it to my son for graduation. He pulled up at seven, left at four, and the only thing he asked for was black coffee. The car was better than I bought it.”

— J. Penhall · Westlake · 997.2 Carrera S

“He is the only person I trust with the Defender. I have tried three shops. None of them vacuumed under the rear seat.”

— A. Flores · Tarrytown · Defender 110

“Booked the Concours before Keels & Wheels. Took second in class. The dashboard alone looked like it was under glass.”

04 · Where we go

We come to you
across Central Texas.

Central Texas, door to door.

Call the studio (210) 279‑3889

Everything you would have asked on the phone.

How long does a visit take?
The House Call runs three to four hours. The Saturday runs seven to nine and we bring lunch. The Concours is a two‑day engagement — we arrive the first morning and return the car the second afternoon. We never shortcut time to move to the next appointment.
What if it rains the day of my appointment?
If the forecast turns wet overnight we reach out by 7 a.m. with two options: reschedule to the next open morning, or move the work under your garage if one is available. No deposit is held and no reschedule fee.
How far do you travel? Is there a travel fee?
Central Texas.
Is ceramic coating worth it?
For any vehicle kept more than three years, yes. The two‑year coating pays for itself on the first spring pollen season and the first summer bird‑dropping — both of which fail to etch coated paint. The five‑year tier we reserve for collectors and for cars kept primarily outdoors.
How do I pay? Do you require a deposit?
Payment the day of, at the finish, by tap, card, check, or Zelle. No deposit for first appointments under $1,000. For the Concours package we collect half at booking, half at finish. Invoiced accounts for standing clients on request.
Do you detail fleets, or multiple vehicles at one address?
Yes. We quote fleet work per‑vehicle with a discount after the third car and we can schedule a full day at a single address — driveway, office, or dealership lot. Write us with the details and we'll put together a proposal inside the day.

We respond within the hour,
every hour we are not under a car.
